Dental Bonding
Big Smile Dental Clinic uses dental bonding to sculpt individual teeth with a special tooth-like material that looks acts and feels like the real thing.
Bonding is an affordable, quick and painless way to repair many cosmetic flaws or injuries.
Cosmetic Dentistry Painlessly Repairs Broken Teeth At Big Smile Dental Clinic.
Bonding in typically painless and can yield dramatic results Essentially, bonding hides any natural flaws through the placement of a thin plastic coating on the surface of the teeth.
After treating the tooth surface, Dr. Alex applies a putty-like bonding material that is then sculpted, shaped and coloured to suit your needs. A high-intensity light causes the plastic to harden after which the new surface is smoothed and polished.
Bonding can lighten stains, close gaps and even alter crooked or malformed teeth. We can even utilize it to change the shape or colour of a single tooth or if necessary to remake your entire smile.

Turn «Metal Mouth» into a natural smile:
Replace old crowns and bridges with metal-free restorations. There’s a huge difference between metal fillings and Big Smile Dental Clinic’s new porcelain restorations that reflect the translucence of natural teeth. Your new metal-free crowns, inlays and bridges won’t show wear or cause opposing teeth to erode and fitting the crown or bridge is simple.
Tooth extraction
Tooth extraction, also known as tooth removal, is a procedure available at our dental clinic.
Reasons A Tooth Needs To Be Removed
When a tooth has suffered significant damage, or is at risk of damaging other teeth or your gums, and can’t be fixed with treatment such as a filling or crown, it may need to be extracted.
Tooth removal is only used as a last resort, but depending on the circumstances and extent of the damage, there may be no other option but for a tooth or multiple teeth to be removed. We also offer private wisdom tooth removal for greater flexibility.
Wisdom teeth removal
The removal of wisdom teeth, which are the four teeth furthest back in your mouth – one in each corner – and are the last of your teeth to grow, is a common procedure.
Wisdom teeth can cause problems for some people because of the lack of space available in a person’s mouth at the point they break through the gum.
This can cause them to emerge at an angle, get stuck and/or impact other teeth, which can cause irritation, pain, swelling and/or infection. In this case, wisdom tooth removal would be recommended.
A tooth may also need to be extracted if the centre of it, which contains nerves and blood vessels, has a severe infection.
Dental implants
Dental implants are widely considered the most reliable and longest-lasting teeth replacement option available. These small threaded posts — made of medical-grade titanium — are embedded into your jaw to replace missing teeth roots. Once the implants are healed, they can be restored with dental crowns, dental bridges or dentures.
Periodontal surgery
If you have moderate or severe periodontitis, a gum specialist may recommend gum disease treatment. During this procedure, incisions are made along your gum line and the tissue is temporarily moved back away from your teeth. Your surgeon will then clean your teeth roots, flushing away plaque and bacteria that have accumulated under your gums. Finally, the gum tissue is repositioned and sutured into place.

Dental Hygiene To Treat Gum Disease
A build-up of tartar and bacteria on your teeth can result in gum disease. It’s estimated that gum disease, to some degree, affects more than half of all adults.
Gingivitis
The most common type is a mild form of gum disease called gingivitis, where bacteria causes inflammation of the gums and results in them becoming red and swollen, and quick to bleed.
If gingivitis isn’t treated it can advance to periodontitis, where the gum comes away from the teeth and forms spaces (called “pockets”) that become infected. Our dental clinic will carry out a teeth cleaning procedure to prevent this occurrence
If periodontitis is ignored or untreated, the bones, gums, and tissue that support the teeth are destroyed.
Signs & Symptoms of gum disease:
- Bleeding gums
- Gum recession
- Loose teeth
- Sensitive teeth
- Gum swelling/abscess
- Bad breath/Halitosis
- An increasing space between the teeth
- Tooth drifting/movement
- Tooth mobility
- Tooth loss
Cosmetic Dentistry
There are many dental issues that cosmetic dentistry treatments can fix, with examples being misshapen teeth, crooked teeth and discoloured teeth. Whatever aspect of your teeth you’re not happy with, we’re confident that we can help. Our cosmetic dental surgery offers the following treatments:
Veneers – We use ultra-thin shells of enamel-like porcelain, handcrafted by expert ceramists, and permanently bond them to the front of your teeth, to hide all manner of imperfections, like chipped teeth, short teeth, gaps between teeth, and stained teeth.
Dental crowns– Are a procedure, available at our dental clinic, to strengthen or improve the appearance of damaged teeth. They are an artificial restoration that’s placed over an existing tooth, which may need to be carefully filed down first, to act as a cap on top of it.
They can be used for many purposes. For example, to preserve a weakened tooth from fracturing, to replace a large dental filling when insufficient tooth is remaining, to protect a tooth after root canal treatment, to hold a dental bridge in place, or to cover a poorly shaped or discoloured tooth.A dental crown can be made from a range of different materials, with ceramic, zirconium porcelain, or porcelain bonded to metal being the most commonly used ones. What material is used for your crown will depend on the reason for needing the crown and the location of the tooth. This can be decided when you attend your dental crown treatment.
Bonding – Among the simplest and least expensive cosmetic dentistry procedures, dental bonding improves the appearance of a tooth that may have decayed, chipped, broken or discoloured. The composite material used is contoured, shaped and polished to match surrounding teeth.
Gum Contouring– Something that is missed a lot of the time, but so valuable for the end result is to ensure the gums are all in line with the correct amount of gum show when smiling.
Fillings – Replace your old fashioned metal amalgam fillings with new natural-looking white ones. We sculpt them to recreate the original tooth shape and use layering techniques to mimic natural tooth structure, shade and light reflection. No one would ever know you have any fillings.
Smile Makeover – Revitalise your teeth and get yourself a Hollywood smile using a range of the above techniques. We don’t use a one size fits all template approach. We assess your individual needs and personalise your smile treatment plan accordingly for optimal results.

Generally, the only side effect from treatment may be some sensitivity to hot and cold foods. If this occurs, sensitivity normally disappears within 48 hours.

Cover problem teeth with ultra-thin porcelain veneers
Dentures are available at our dental clinic. They are a removable set of artificial teeth – either complete or partial – made to replace natural teeth you have lost, and are used to restore appearance and oral functions.
Dentures are more comfortable and natural looking than ever before and, unless you tell someone that you’re wearing dentures, they probably won’t even know. Once made and fitted, these custom-made replacements are easily put in and taken out of your mouth by you, giving you the flexibility to wear them at times that suit you.
Complete dentures are used when all teeth need replacing on your upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain, and fit in amongst and around those remaining teeth.
New dentures more natural, functional and comfortable
In Big Smile Dental Clinic we use new materials that can be custom blended to your skin, hair and eye colour to look as if you were born with perfect teeth. Dentures can also be replaced or relined to correct problems with aging jaws so you can chew without discomfort again. Ask about the new dentures of flexible materials (like Flexite /Valplast).
